Happiness workshop

Hello,

This week we had lessons by our Kyla from South-Korea. Yes she was here, ted talker, wonderful professor from Yonsei university Kyla. We had a happiness workshop on monday. You should visit her with versus at webpage. There is more information about her teaching methods and happiness workshop http://www.withvsat.com/. We had fun games and a task where we had spread as much happiness in our campus as we could. I was volunteer and got a ball as thanks, i gave it to my dog and she loves it, it´s littlebit destroyed already :) On tuesday we made nice papers with nice encouraging or funny texts and spead those. And wednesday we watched those videos and they were nice.

Kyla is so enthusiastic and happy person, WOW like Ilkka but on the next level :)

Happiness

On thursday we had more international guests. There was Belgian students and people all over Europe. In Laurea is international week going on. We had a lesson by Polish Jacek Welc and it was about Strategic balancing of operating risks and financial risks. I learned lot about what to think when  taking loans as a private person or as company. You should think politics, economical situations and so on. He seemed like very smart person. He was teaching in Poland and Berlin. I´ve been in Berlin three times and i love it. I´ve been in Poland too and i liked that too :) Nice to eat out and buy things because the price level was inexpensive. Hey i have finally learnt that because is written because not becouse (word always changes it automatically and i never learnt, something good about keeping the blog).

Then something from this week:

11.4-15.4.

On monday we had two visitors in our lesson. First was Sani Leino from Thinglink and second was Camilla Tuominen who has founded Emotion tracker.

Sani gave us a challenge to make Thinglink accounts and i´m not sure if the best is going to win something? We got updates as premium users for free too. He has been founding Helsinki Metropolitan Entrepreneurship Academy (HMEA), Laurea Entrepreneurship Society (Laurea ES) and Yrittäjyystiistai. You may have heard something about those :) And if you didn´t get it by now, he´s Laurea alumn.

Camilla told us about psychological things and how her Emotion tracker works, how she ended to establish her application. She also has a brand new book "Tunnekuvakirja." She is a very interesting person. She made it to master´s degree in business in university but what she really wanted to study was psycology, but now she´s working with it. Emotion tracker is working with peoples emotions and Camilla seemed happy with her life and work.

The last but not the least was our own Teemu Reunila who kept a lesson about video editing. Lesson was very good, Go Teemu! Unfortunaly the program he used costs abour 20€ per month so I didn´t want to load it. But I think I learned something.

On friday we watched our Avionboard and Funking productions. Everyone had little different tasks so i think it was hard to give grades. Task was fun, our task was to make or plan blog or vlog marketing for Avionboard. Here is what we made, it´s Paraskevi Bakalopulos´s blog and we made content for her. I think our video was very good, again. Some student teams has "pro" video makers and we are just amateurs but our videos are goood.

Then we had brainstorming session. We had to think how Mexican students can sell their Amarant bars and think how they get people to choose the bar in stores and make a little video. Here is ours.

I dont have any pictures becouse somebody told us that this week you don´t have to write blogs.. But you got lots of links :)

Here is my Thinglink photo: (tags are working only in the thinglink site)

Spring is finally here

This week started practically on tuesday, becouse monday was a holiday. We had a short lesson by Ilkka. It was about search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM). We got more information about digital tools for analysing and marketing websites and how to make timetables for posts. We were handling Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Hootsuite.com and Ilkka also showed us what is Mouseflow.com. I´m not going to explain what those does, becouse everyone who reads my blog knows them :) But i learnt how to analyse who visit my website, when, from where and so on. And got tools how to make Google Adds and how that works. Hootsuite.com was very fashinating and i´m definately going to try that if i work somewhere where i need information about page viewers. That was the lesson what i thought this course would be like. Very good subjects.

We also had a visiting lecturer. She was 32 years old Aida Hubanic (Facebook, LinkedIn). She moved to Finland with her family after or during the surrounding of Sarajevo in the early 1990´s. She told her story from those days till today. She has made it though the rough time to settle in the new country and luckily she was young, so she learned the language and now she´s doing her masters degree in Laurea. She´s had great working places and a son. I thinks she´s very inspiring. I think the main reason that she was in our lesson was that she was in a winning team of Laurea game jam, they also won first place in Barcelona game fair with their game called Hungry cells. She told us about the game jam weekend in Laurea Leppävaara and the competition in Barcelona.

After school our team Digi-ESAT used our price from Nobot Oy competition. We bought food and drinks and had a "brunch." Thank you Nobot Oy. They also asked our original video this week so maybe they are using it. :) Here you can see our brunch feelings:

Second "lesson" was on friday. We were visiting wellness fair at PCA Scala premises in Vallila. Well I got some s**t taste in my mouth about that, becouse the owner asked us there as visitors but he made working tasks for us. Well thanks to Ilkka, who saved the situation somehow :) Go Ilkka!! It was little embarrasing becouse students were confused and well honestly pissed off there. Then Mika Järvinen was talking about trusting people in his talk and said that "don´t trust anyone." My first thought was that yes "siten makaa, miten petaa." I´m never going to work with him.

One of my old classmates was CEO of the other arranger, Papu Wellness. Good for him, he was successful and does well in life, it´s always good to know people are doing great.

But week was good. holiday, working, littlebit school, lots of schoolwork, more days off. This week has learnt me how not to manage with co-operators. If you have will and you work for things you want, you will reach them. I was Laurea missionarist working and caught a shoplifter, well i saw people stealing and went to tell to the staff. And i know that i cant talk about bike parts in swedish and that it´shamefull :) Old finlands-swedish man told me that. On saturday we made a roadtrip and visited my old friend in Kotka. In Kotka we opened a terrace season in Kotka harbour in a lovely sunshine.

I definately love warm, sunny spring days <3
