Happiness workshop

Hello,

This week we had lessons by our Kyla from South-Korea. Yes she was here, ted talker, wonderful professor from Yonsei university Kyla. We had a happiness workshop on monday. You should visit her with versus at webpage. There is more information about her teaching methods and happiness workshop http://www.withvsat.com/. We had fun games and a task where we had spread as much happiness in our campus as we could. I was volunteer and got a ball as thanks, i gave it to my dog and she loves it, it´s littlebit destroyed already :) On tuesday we made nice papers with nice encouraging or funny texts and spead those. And wednesday we watched those videos and they were nice.

Kyla is so enthusiastic and happy person, WOW like Ilkka but on the next level :)

Happiness

On thursday we had more international guests. There was Belgian students and people all over Europe. In Laurea is international week going on. We had a lesson by Polish Jacek Welc and it was about Strategic balancing of operating risks and financial risks. I learned lot about what to think when  taking loans as a private person or as company. You should think politics, economical situations and so on. He seemed like very smart person. He was teaching in Poland and Berlin. I´ve been in Berlin three times and i love it. I´ve been in Poland too and i liked that too :) Nice to eat out and buy things because the price level was inexpensive. Hey i have finally learnt that because is written because not becouse (word always changes it automatically and i never learnt, something good about keeping the blog).

Then something from this week:

11.4-15.4.

On monday we had two visitors in our lesson. First was Sani Leino from Thinglink and second was Camilla Tuominen who has founded Emotion tracker.

Sani gave us a challenge to make Thinglink accounts and i´m not sure if the best is going to win something? We got updates as premium users for free too. He has been founding Helsinki Metropolitan Entrepreneurship Academy (HMEA), Laurea Entrepreneurship Society (Laurea ES) and Yrittäjyystiistai. You may have heard something about those :) And if you didn´t get it by now, he´s Laurea alumn.

Camilla told us about psychological things and how her Emotion tracker works, how she ended to establish her application. She also has a brand new book "Tunnekuvakirja." She is a very interesting person. She made it to master´s degree in business in university but what she really wanted to study was psycology, but now she´s working with it. Emotion tracker is working with peoples emotions and Camilla seemed happy with her life and work.

The last but not the least was our own Teemu Reunila who kept a lesson about video editing. Lesson was very good, Go Teemu! Unfortunaly the program he used costs abour 20€ per month so I didn´t want to load it. But I think I learned something.

On friday we watched our Avionboard and Funking productions. Everyone had little different tasks so i think it was hard to give grades. Task was fun, our task was to make or plan blog or vlog marketing for Avionboard. Here is what we made, it´s Paraskevi Bakalopulos´s blog and we made content for her. I think our video was very good, again. Some student teams has "pro" video makers and we are just amateurs but our videos are goood.

Then we had brainstorming session. We had to think how Mexican students can sell their Amarant bars and think how they get people to choose the bar in stores and make a little video. Here is ours.

I dont have any pictures becouse somebody told us that this week you don´t have to write blogs.. But you got lots of links :)

Here is my Thinglink photo: (tags are working only in the thinglink site)

Spring is finally here

This week started practically on tuesday, becouse monday was a holiday. We had a short lesson by Ilkka. It was about search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM). We got more information about digital tools for analysing and marketing websites and how to make timetables for posts. We were handling Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Hootsuite.com and Ilkka also showed us what is Mouseflow.com. I´m not going to explain what those does, becouse everyone who reads my blog knows them :) But i learnt how to analyse who visit my website, when, from where and so on. And got tools how to make Google Adds and how that works. Hootsuite.com was very fashinating and i´m definately going to try that if i work somewhere where i need information about page viewers. That was the lesson what i thought this course would be like. Very good subjects.

We also had a visiting lecturer. She was 32 years old Aida Hubanic (Facebook, LinkedIn). She moved to Finland with her family after or during the surrounding of Sarajevo in the early 1990´s. She told her story from those days till today. She has made it though the rough time to settle in the new country and luckily she was young, so she learned the language and now she´s doing her masters degree in Laurea. She´s had great working places and a son. I thinks she´s very inspiring. I think the main reason that she was in our lesson was that she was in a winning team of Laurea game jam, they also won first place in Barcelona game fair with their game called Hungry cells. She told us about the game jam weekend in Laurea Leppävaara and the competition in Barcelona.

After school our team Digi-ESAT used our price from Nobot Oy competition. We bought food and drinks and had a "brunch." Thank you Nobot Oy. They also asked our original video this week so maybe they are using it. :) Here you can see our brunch feelings:

Second "lesson" was on friday. We were visiting wellness fair at PCA Scala premises in Vallila. Well I got some s**t taste in my mouth about that, becouse the owner asked us there as visitors but he made working tasks for us. Well thanks to Ilkka, who saved the situation somehow :) Go Ilkka!! It was little embarrasing becouse students were confused and well honestly pissed off there. Then Mika Järvinen was talking about trusting people in his talk and said that "don´t trust anyone." My first thought was that yes "siten makaa, miten petaa." I´m never going to work with him.

One of my old classmates was CEO of the other arranger, Papu Wellness. Good for him, he was successful and does well in life, it´s always good to know people are doing great.

But week was good. holiday, working, littlebit school, lots of schoolwork, more days off. This week has learnt me how not to manage with co-operators. If you have will and you work for things you want, you will reach them. I was Laurea missionarist working and caught a shoplifter, well i saw people stealing and went to tell to the staff. And i know that i cant talk about bike parts in swedish and that it´shamefull :) Old finlands-swedish man told me that. On saturday we made a roadtrip and visited my old friend in Kotka. In Kotka we opened a terrace season in Kotka harbour in a lovely sunshine.

I definately love warm, sunny spring days <3

Lob, Antti Haapsaari, Avionboard, Funking and Easter..

Hi,

I´m little late with my blog this week. There was easter and i was visiting my boyfriends family in Savonia. Last week was shorter than usual recarding to school. I was in a student cruise Lob witch departured from Helsinki on Sunday. The ship came back on tuesday so i missed our lesson on monday. I heard that there was good visiting lecturers and one of them was even good looking :)

But becouse the week was short and i had so much school stuff to do i had to start right on tuesday. And on wednesday we returned our ideas for Mika Järvinen recarding to PCA Scala mission. We had couple of lottery ideas to facebook marketing. We had some thoughts about the task. It feels stupid that we dont have passwords for their social media. How can we market a lottery in our own facebook site? It doesn´t feel comfortable.

Thursday we had a lecture with visitors again. First visitor was very inspiring and succesful Antti Haapsaari partner of KANTTIA 2 company. He was a friend and previous collegue of Ilkka. I think Ilkka has many great connections he has got to visit our lessons. Well Antti´s company is planning to buid a 600 meters high tower in Egypt. And he was talking about how you have to make good relationships with your collegues and friends and customers. Tell them the truth and be honest, thats how you will get success and doesn´t have to hide anything. I liked the way he presented and about the things he told.

Then we got new tasks. Part of the class makes project for Avionboard and other part to our own classmates Funking. We are working for Avionboard. We are going to plan some social media marketing. Our area of social media is blogging and vlogging, propably we are going to make video material in a blog or something like that. We will get a Avionboard for testing and video shooting. Avionboard team told us also that they are friends who desided to establish a company together. Tuomas reminded us that if someone want to establish a company with friend or friends you really have to think whith you you are going to do that, becouse it´s a real life company and it´s like "Results of you are out." I can understand that, really. I am competitive myself and i can see myself being angry for a partner who doens´t do anything or doesn´t learn how to do anything.

I learned something else digital this week too, i used Nova tool for calculation for salaries. Then i was studying about customer relationship management, it included something about how you can use your workers for companys marketing etc.

Happy late easter!

Win Win Win ;)

Hi,

This week we WON two times. Last week i was talking about Nobot task (the video about the book), well we won the competition. The price was a gift card to s-group. We were thinking that we arrange a brunch with our team and celebrate our success. So nice :) I´m a little competitive and i just Looove success in competitions. I think there was many good videos so all groups were good and it must have been hard to deside the best video.

We won something else too. This week our task was given on monday by Mazda Finland and yes it was the car brand Mazda. Our mission was to develop marketing for Mazda 2 car model. They wanted us to find out how Mazda 2 can get in to consumers potential car lists. Our team was focusing on women. We thought the best target group for a small, stylish car would be women and we developed our task in to that. I put our presentation under this chapter so you will get to know the details of our campaings. I think this task was very nice and I´m so proud of our team, we are the only team with only female members and we beated all the boys. We got JBL speakers, Mazda´s company presents. Yeeei. :)

Link to Mazda 2 presentation.

On thursday after Mazda awards we had visitor lecturer. He was Juha Hanhinen, professional of moving picture. He told us about buying videos and for what. I learned that if I want to order (or buy) a video from professional I have to know what I want, what are my resources, how it´s made, who is the (One) contact person from my company etc. And that videos can be used in fairs, investors, communication for customers and internally. Here´s his twitter account so you can follow him and get to know more about him.

We also got new task. It have to be returned next wednesday. It´s also a competition. We have to plan competition for PCA scala gym. They are having a activity day at their gym and our task is to plan competition according to the happening. The owner is not the best user of social media so we are here to help him to make new followers and getting people to participate the event and competition. Our teams feelings are high after our present success. We always want to make it better, but we have so many good competitors. I think that if you can stand behind your task, then you made it well enough.

I also got my job interview this week, it went very well. Interviewer was from Savonia so he was easy going. But unfortunately i didn´t get the job :( There was someone who has been doing the same job earlier and they chose him/her. Well it means more applications, i want to get my summerjob from Kuopio.

On sunday we are going to LOB student cruise. It´s going to be fun there will be 16 students from our class. Maybe you are going to get some photos, Maybe :)

Law Law Law and a New Video..

Hi again,

Our course have already made it over the second half. This week was about law issues, Nobot video making and more law issues. We also had lessons by Anna, Kevin and Lasse. I also made some Laurea missionarist working.

I started my monday beeing at school one hour too early. I dont know how it is possible, but still. Well i had time to search books from the library for my school projects. This weeks lessons were little different. We had lessons by Marjaana Marmo, our law teacher. We were learning about basic legal consepts (legal capasity, contractual competence, limited contractual competences and juridical responsibility), contracts and the sale of movable property (sellers and buyers responsibilities). We also got lots of tasks we made during monday, tuesday and wednesday.

We made our Nobot video this week. Our task was to film a video about Vaipelaides book. The filming was shared to chapters of the book and our team got chapter number nine. The chapter was about valuation, cheering and recompensing. Idont explain more about the chapters content, you can watch the video here under this chapter. Making the video was fun but we only had one day to film  and edit it. We are still satisfied with the result and the book was interesting (you can download it for free from this link. You can also learn more about the company here.

On thursday we started our day with a quick lesson by Anna. It was about secret of life. Anna told us she believes in magic and used to go to a fortune teller. Fortune teller said to Anna that nobody else will not make you happy, unless you do it yourself. Sounds reasonable for me. She was talking about Rhonda Byrnes book called Secret wich told her that the secret of life is law of attraction.

In Marjaanas lesson we checked our tasks from this week. I think this is a good way to teach law issues, becouse we have to read though cases and do some thinking and researching. If we would only read law texts without examples it would be very hard to learn.

This week was nice but i thinks we had too little time for our tasks. We had to share our law missions and didn´t have time to study all the things personally. Maybe i´ll read them later.

Laurea missionarist starting my first presentation alone in Otaniemi auditorium.

Starting the Part II in Istanbul

Merhaba (Hi in turkish)

I have to say that i like travelling, a lot. So i spent this week on a holiday with my boyfriend in Istanbul. This was my first trip outside Europe as an adult and Istanbul was so much different. There was prays from the speakers in the streets maybe 4 times a day. And best suprise was waking up in the first night after travelling to city. We went to sleep at 2 am and morning pray was at 5.30, i allmost got a heart attack. The city is mix of islamic and european countries and i think it was a good choise to taste way different culture. 14 million recidents in one city influenced that in the city was a little chaos all the time, there was pollution in the air and the air smelled like smoke. Everyone was smoking cigarettes and when you looked at the view it seemed that the city never ended.

There are some pictures from the trip. First photo is from the Sultan Ahmet mosque, in the second picture you can see the thing with the never ending landscape and in the last picture are our traditional Starbucks coffees (if we travel and see a Starbucks we have to go and take same coffees. Mine is vanilla latte with cinnamon powder). In Starbucks there is always good caffee, free wifi and good toilets. It´s a great brand, you always know what you get. And it works in all cultures, becouse it´s just coffee, or is it? And what about the exitement of what starbucksname you get? I always try to spell my own name and my boyfriend uses Ed. What is your Starbucksname?

Do you remember our Super park video task? I heard from my team mates that our video was a success what it comes to Super park. They are maybe going to use it in their website. We had our presentations on monday, but i was already at the airport during that time.

I tried to look what others learned this week and i´m so happy i did some learning about cultures too. Actually i already know something about the subject. How culture reflects on everything: how you speak, what kind of clothes you wear, your religion, expectations etc. The list is never ending :) And those effects on what to sell, how and what kind of marketing. I started to read the book Ilkka mentioned in his post and found out that you were maybe talking about companies cultures. But it´s same thing, the people who works in your company are different and those people makes the company culture. Some people even hire only people who "fits in."

Ilkka posted video about mind visualization technique "Napoleon Hill´s invisible counselors technique." It´s about having conversations and advises with anyone you can imagine, in your head. I think i´m going to try that in next big thinking situation. You should watch the video too if you need  inspiration and counceling:

We got scedule for the spring and got a new task. We are going to shoot a video, one chapter per team about Jouni Varpelaides book Terveen yrityksen työkirja (You can download it here, for free). Our team got chapter number nine (9) which is about giving feedback, thanks and reverence. It´s interesting, I think that our group has experience about how you should not do it :) And hopefully some good experiences too. We are going to plan this tomorrow and we are going to get some feedback from our digital mentor Mira.

That´s all i learned about digital business this week, tried to stay updated.. Or actually it wasn´t. When a company is using digital services they should make sure services are working. Really. Alias i was sleeping my first night at the trip in a wooden cottage on the top of hotel next to our. Not the one i booked our room from. But hey, experiences. I´m still going to use Booking.com becouse of their great regular customer discounts.

And, i got a summerjob interview to VVO. Exciteeed.
