I have to say that i like travelling, a lot. So i spent this week on a holiday with my boyfriend in Istanbul. This was my first trip outside Europe as an adult and Istanbul was so much different. There was prays from the speakers in the streets maybe 4 times a day. And best suprise was waking up in the first night after travelling to city. We went to sleep at 2 am and morning pray was at 5.30, i allmost got a heart attack. The city is mix of islamic and european countries and i think it was a good choise to taste way different culture. 14 million recidents in one city influenced that in the city was a little chaos all the time, there was pollution in the air and the air smelled like smoke. Everyone was smoking cigarettes and when you looked at the view it seemed that the city never ended.
There are some pictures from the trip. First photo is from the Sultan
Ahmet mosque, in the second picture you can see the thing with the never
ending landscape and in the last picture are our traditional Starbucks
coffees (if we travel and see a Starbucks we have to go and take same
coffees. Mine is vanilla latte with cinnamon powder). In Starbucks there
is always good caffee, free wifi and good toilets. It´s a great brand,
you always know what you get. And it works in all cultures, becouse it´s
just coffee, or is it? And what about the exitement of what
starbucksname you get? I always try to spell my own name and my
boyfriend uses Ed. What is your Starbucksname?
Do you remember our Super park video task? I heard from my team mates that our video was a success what it comes to Super park. They are maybe going to use it in their website. We had our presentations on monday, but i was already at the airport during that time.
I tried to look what others learned this week and i´m so happy i did
some learning about cultures too. Actually i already know something
about the subject. How culture reflects on everything: how you speak,
what kind of clothes you wear, your religion, expectations etc. The list
is never ending :) And those effects on what to sell, how and what kind
of marketing. I started to read the book Ilkka mentioned in his post
and found out that you were maybe talking about companies cultures. But
it´s same thing, the people who works in your company are different and
those people makes the company culture. Some people even hire only
people who "fits in."
Ilkka posted video about mind visualization technique "Napoleon Hill´s invisible counselors technique." It´s about having conversations and advises with anyone you can imagine, in your head. I think i´m going to try that in next big thinking situation. You should watch the video too if you need inspiration and counceling:
We got scedule for the spring and got a new task. We are going to shoot a video, one chapter per team about Jouni Varpelaides book Terveen yrityksen työkirja (You can download it here, for free). Our team got chapter number nine (9) which is about giving feedback, thanks and reverence. It´s interesting, I think that our group has experience about how you should not do it :) And hopefully some good experiences too. We are going to plan this tomorrow and we are going to get some feedback from our digital mentor Mira.
That´s all i learned about digital business this week, tried to stay updated.. Or actually it wasn´t. When a company is using digital services they should make sure services are working. Really. Alias i was sleeping my first night at the trip in a wooden cottage on the top of hotel next to our. Not the one i booked our room from. But hey, experiences. I´m still going to use Booking.com becouse of their great regular customer discounts.
And, i got a summerjob interview to VVO. Exciteeed.
